OVERCOME ANXIETY

A Guided Meditation & Prayer For Anxiety

Meditation & Prayer For Anxiety

Wherever you are, take a moment to get comfortable.

Once you’re relaxed, close your eyes and focus on your breathing.
Begin slowing down by taking deep breaths in through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

Let’s take a moment to become aware of God’s presence. Think about who He is as the creator and sustainer of life. Think about the access we have to the Holy Spirit who dwells among us and within us.

Focus and give thanks for the things you’re grateful for today.

Is there something you’re feeling anxious about today? Take this time to tell God how you’re feeling and be honest with Him. God can handle it.

Take a deep breath.

Now take a moment to focus on that anxiety and how the Holy Spirit can help you when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

Take one last deep breath.

Let’s read Philippians 4:4-7 together: “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Let’s all pray together: Father, we thank you that you are a good father. We believe that you know what’s best for us. I don’t understand why I’m feeling anxious. I don’t understand why these situations won’t subside. But what I do know is that you can bring me peace in the storm. You can bring calm in the chaos. I am trusting in You to ease my soul when I’m overwhelmed. I’m relying on you to help my mind, heart, and spirit when I become anxious. Thank you for always being with me, in every situation. I know that you will bring me through this. I ask for all these things in the name of Jesus the Messiah. Amen.
