“The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”
When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?”
They said, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?”
He said, “Come and see.”
Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus. -John 1:35-42 // NIV

Leaders Eat Last – Simon Sinek

Simon claimed that authenticity and servanthood were directly linked to how influential a leader could really be.

1. Our need for hierarchy and leadership actually stems from our biological makeup.

2. Once you submit to that influence, it begins to impact both your culture and your perspective.

Influence: the capacity to affect someone’s behavior or outlook. The capacity to impact how people act and how they think.

The Latin is influere and speaks to one’s flow of thinking…into another. Imagine a river flowing into another body of water.

Follow me as I follow Christ.”

-1 Corinthians 11:1

Emotional Contagion: the biological mechanisms that makes emotions (behaviors) contagious by means of the mirror neuron system in the brain.

1. Get out of the saltshaker – Matthew 5: 13 -16

2. Engage the world where they are – Luke 10:25-37

3. Influence is not about a title. It’s about a mindset.
